AT A PRESS CONFERENCE Wednesday to unveil her photo spread appearing in the August issue of Playboy, Conger said she would like to move into the talk show chair next to Regis Philbin when Kathie Lee Gifford departs later this month. “I don’t think anyone could replace Kathie Lee,” Conger said. “I’d like to think I could do a good job as Regis’ co-host. I think he and I would get along rather well.” Conger is looking for work after losing her job as a nurse in the wake of the turmoil caused by her quickie marriage on live TV to Rick Rockwell. Two other hospitals wouldn’t take her because of the media stigma, she said.
